Innospection focuses primarily on utilising Eddy Current and SLOFEC™ (Saturation Low Frequency Eddy Current) techniques, complemented with various Inspection Services and Application solution developments, which has created an enviable reputation for applied expertise and effective delivery within the industry.
Innospection’s inspection services and applications include: Heat Exchanger and Boiler Tube Inspection Innospection has long term experience in heat exchanger and boiler tube inspection, offering its inspection services in combination with state of the art equipment and technology. Innospection’s experience and available technologies enable it to offer inspection services with these optimum inspection techniques:
Fast corrosion scanning with the SLOFEC™ technique of:
Marinised Internal Caisson Inspection Tool These submersible tools combine the SLOFEC™, Eddy Current, Camera and PEC techniques, enabling the fast scanning of caissons and other pipes, which detects and evaluates external as well as internal defects. The diameterflexible tool, with its different inspection techniques, offers a substantial support for the life time analysis of caissons and other pipes. Marinised External Riser Pipe Inspection Tool This submersible tool is designed to enable the non intrusive inspection of risers and caissons through their neoprene coatings and typical monel claddings. Its specific application is the fast scanning of the splash zone area of the pipes. The tool is rated for deep water and, as such, is ideal for the fast scanning of pipes at deeper levels, with a minimum of preparation being required. The tool, as with its internally deployed counterpart, combines the SLOFEC™, Eddy Current and Video Techniques, this facilitating comprehensive inspection data capture.
Internal (gas) Riser Inspection Tool This tool was developed as a result of the demand for internal gas riser inspection with a ‘dry inspection technique’. The magnetic biased eddy current tools enable detection and analysis of both external and internal defects. The multiple sensor arrays provide high resolution over the entire circumference of the riser under inspection. Multiple Sensor Array Crack Detection Tools The demand for a fast scanning crack detection system resulted in the development of this multiple eddy current sensor scanner that can be used on a variety of different materials. The specialised sensors allow higher detection distance from the surface, which consequently allows the inspection of pipes or vessels that are under high temperatures. The sensors have high sensitivity, which enables the detection of surface breaking cracks, irrespective of their orientations. |
![]() The SLOFEC™ inspection technique utilises the combined effects of eddy currents and magnetic fields. By superimposing DC-magnetisation, the depth of penetration is increased so that corrosional attack (metal loss), even at significant subsurface depths, can be detected. The technology enables the detection of topside and underside corrosion in thin and thick-walled plates and pipes. With its demonstrable advantages, SLOFEC™ has fully satisfied the rigorous demands of the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, with proven distinctive attributes, such as:
Innospection’s success in advanced inspection services and solutions for Heat Exchanger Tubing, Pipes, Pressure Vessels and Storage Tanks, has resulted in the company investing in and expanding the business substantially. Further developments have been undertaken, such as: heat exchanger tube sheet crawlers, allowing the inspection of coolers without removal of the header; stainless steel pipe scanners for crack and corrosion detection; boiler tube inspection tools and others. Major steps forward in Innospection’s R&D activities are: new developments of the flexible riser inspection tool, and internal pipe scanning tools.
Innospection’s expertise in Eddy Current and SLOFEC™ inspection services and techniques have increased its international demand, and the company’s worldwide reputation for professional inspection delivery is ever increasing.
